Investigate semantic markup for the simplest of items: a word. Actually not so easy to define what a "word" is, but each one has very interesting attributes: which language is it? meaning, etymology, history (like OED), cross-reference in interesting sets of documents (including sacred texts), audio for pronunciation, good examples of usage and diction, good examples of usage in good writing, political issues involved, and lots more. How could wiktionary be involved?
